The Ultimate Stress Management Seminar (2 hours) - $40.00
The Ultimate Stress Management Seminar is led by Dr. Alice Fong. She is a naturopathic physician that specializes in stress management and uses a wide variety of tools to help people relax, as well as teach people how they can cope with stress in a healthier way. She is also a licensed massage therapist, a certified counselor, and a hypnotherapist.
This seminar uses a blend of relaxation techniques including: biofeedback, hypnotherapy, and massage. For many people relaxation can be very difficult, and the Ultimate Stress Management Seminar takes a holistic approach to wellbeing by addressing stress on a mental, emotional, and physical level.
Stress is a major component of nearly everyone’s life, but it is often disregarded or not handled as well as it could be. Numerous studies have shown that prolonged stress can have a negative impact on person’s physical health and mental and emotional wellbeing. Signs can include, but are not limited to: fatigue, depression, anxiety, pain, decreased immune function, high blood pressure, and insomnia. Perhaps we cannot always change the stressors that come up in our lives, but we CAN change the way we respond to stress. And our job is to show you how you can handle your stress better using a wide variety of tools, such as: teaching you to train your body to relax more naturally when you need (using biofeedback), or talking you into a relaxed peaceful state and giving you the motivation and confidence to achieve your goals (using hypnotherapy), or physically relieving and/or eliminating the stress your body carries (using massage). There IS a different way you can live, let Dr. Alice show you how.
Biofeedback is the process of becoming aware of our physiological (aka biological) responses and learning how to regulate these processes (such as breathing and heartrate) through the use of machines or people who offer feedback about those responses. Once we learn to regulate these, we can generalize it to our whole life to where it can impact our mood and autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system involves your sympathetic (fight or flight; stress response) and parasympathetic nervous systems (rest and digest; relaxation). Balancing our autonomic nervous system will allow us to better cope with the many stressors of daily living and ultimately improve our health and immune function.
Hypnotherapy is a safe and relaxing experience to help you free your mind from inner conflicts and stress. It involves using visualizations to help you achieve the goals you want out of the life.
Massage is one of the oldest, simplest forms of therapy to enhance relaxing and promote a sense of wellbeing. Most of us carry our stress physically with tension and knots in our back, neck, and shoulders. In relieving the physical tension, we can promote mental and emotional relaxation.
